CARMINE GILIBERTI was born in Tripoli (Libya), on 1960, from Italian parents
and, there, lives up to the age of 10. Back in Italy, at the age of 16, Carmine
began working in the shipyards until he landed in Fincantieri which allowed
him, with timetable facilitations, to finish their studies with the achievement
of the technical degree diploma. Over the years, in the meantime, the artistic
vein that was his true passion since childhood has not subsided, Carmine
continues to practice with drawings and sketches, at any time of the day and
... with his arrival in La Spezia, almost thirty years old, on his walks with his
wife, he chooses the Cinque Terre area where, under the paths, the sea with
its white foams creates complicated cobwebs, where from the outcropping
rocks you can glimpse the seabed with rocks of various sizes and colors and
in that sea, of intense blue and indefinite depth, the sky drowns.
Having met the artist Arigliano in a city gallery, who made backdrops and
transparencies the only subject of his production, it becomes a great push
that leads him to face the enterprise of choosing that subject for his works.
Since 1989, he begins to be reported by critics and receives wide consent from
the public in various group and personal exhibitions, up to now.
Realist painter who works, according to the ancient technique of overlapping
color glazes, in the search for transparency and depth of the image.
Genre painter, whom experts define as a painter of the sea and its depths, in
which we look and search, unconsciously, to find ourselves.
CARMINE GILIBERTI è nato a Tripoli (Libia), il 10/05/1960, da genitori Italiani
e, li', vive fino all'eta' di 10 anni.Rientrato in Italia, all'eta' di 16 anni, Carmine
inizia a lavorare nei cantieri navali fino ad approdare a Fincantieri che gli
permette nel corso dell'attività lavorativa anche di terminare gli studi
superiori di indirizzo tecnico. Con il passare degli anni, intanto, non sopita la
vena artistica che era la sua vera passione fin dall’infanzia,
Carmine continua ad esercitarsi con disegni e bozzetti, in qualsiasi ritaglio di
tempo della giornata e ...con l'arrivo alla Spezia, quasi trentenne, nelle sue
passeggiate con la moglie, sceglie le Cinque Terre dove, sotto i sentieri, il
mare con le sue schiume bianche crea complicate ragnatele, dove dagli scogli
affioranti s'intravede il fondale con rocce di varie dimensioni e colori e,
in quel mare, di blu intenso e di profondita' indefinita, pare vada ad annegare
il cielo. L'aver conosciuto in una galleria cittadina l’artista Arigliano, che dei
fondali e trasparenze ne faceva soggetto unico della sua produzione, diventa
una grande spinta che lo porta ad affrontare l'impresa di scegliere quel
soggetto per le sue opere.
Dal 1989, comincia ad essere segnalato dalla critica e riceve ampio consenso
dal pubblico nelle varie collettive e personali, fino ad oggi.
Pittore realista che lavora, secondo l’antica tecnica delle velature di colore
sovrapposte, nella ricerca di trasparenza e profondità dell’immagine.
Pittore di genere, che gli esperti definiscono pittore del mare e delle sue
profondità, nelle quali, tutti noi, guardiamo e cerchiamo, inconsciamente,
per trovare noi stessi.
